  Dr. John W. Hart  
   
For Dr. Hart art has been a lifelong passion. He has dedicated himself to the art and science of creating exceptional smiles. Dr. Hart is a Pittsburgh native and has been practicing dentistry in the surrounding area since 1989. He received his B.S. from the University of Pittsburgh and is a graduate of Georgetown University Dental School in Washington, D.C. Following dental school, Dr. Hart further enhanced his knowledge and experience at the Misch Implant Institute and Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. He is a member of the Western Pennsylvania Dental Society, Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Hart is committed to providing his patients with advanced, minimally invasive dentistry. He continually strives to improve every aspect of his practice. He and his staff regularly participate in ongoing continuing education courses that enhance their skills and bring the latest treatment technologies to his patients’ care. Because of his experience, training, board certifications, and professional associations, Consumers Research Council of America has honored Dr. Hart as one of “America’s Top Dentists” in 2006 and again in 2007.

Dr. Hart’s affiliation with the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, the world’s most prestigious advanced dental training institute, keeps him in the forefront of dentistry. His extensive training and expertise allow him to provide long-term dental solutions. Dr. Hart is among 7% of nationally practicing dentists offering the revolutionary CEREC 3-d (CAD/CAM) dental technology. With this time saving equipment, Dr. Hart can custom design and place premium restorations in a single office visit

Layla
Dental Concierge

Layla has more than 16 years of dental experience as both a chairside assistant and receptionist. As our concierge, she can answer any dental and scheduling questions to accommodate today’s hectic agendas. Layla’s friendly disposition and extensive knowledge of the dental field ensure a comfortable and stress free visit to our practice. As the practice ambassador, Layla is expert in attending to our patients’ needs.

Kim
Dental Hygienist

Kim has been a dental hygienist for over 7 years. Kim’s father is a dentist, therefore she has been exposed to dentistry her entire life. She received her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and completed her hygiene training at The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Kim is highly skilled and experienced in periodontal evaluation and therapy, antibiotic placement, hygiene cleanings, home care instructions, patient education, preventative sealant placement, power whitening and take home whitening. The gentle, advanced care Kim provides promises a pleasant hygiene experience.

Krista
Dental Assistant

Krista obtained her education at The Western School of Health and Business Careers.  Krista regularly expands her experience through continuing education courses that keep her knowledgeable of the latest dental techniques.  Patients love Krista’s caring and compassionate demeanor and beautiful smile.  Krista’s commitment to dentistry is apparent in her enthusiasm she brings to the office and the care and attention she provides for our patients on a daily basis.

Janet
Dental Assistant

Janet is the most recent addition to the Exceptional Smiles staff.  She obtained her associate degree in Specialized Technology Dental Assisting, an American Dental Association Accredited Program, at the Bradford School in Pittsburgh. Janet is also certified with the state of Pennsylvania as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant.  She attends ongoing continuing education to further expand her knowledge and capabilities of helping patients to the fullest.  Janet’s passion for her profession, along with her caring and genuine desire to help people, will ensure a stress free and comforting visit to the dentist.

Teresa
Treatment Coordinator
Teresa has been in the dental field for over 19 years.  Her extensive experience sets her apart as she thoroughly understands patient care and treatment coordination.  Teresa has attended countless continuing education courses and hands on workshops over the years to perfect her skills, and this enables her to better serve the needs of our patients. Teresa’s expertise working with insurance companies allows her to answer any questions you may have concerning your dental treatment, fees and coverage.  Her pleasant nature will surely put you at ease as she gives you the individualized attention you deserve.

Lisa
Dental Intern

Lisa graduated from The University of Pittsburgh in 2007 with a B.S. in Biology. Beginning in August 2007 Lisa will be attending The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine where she was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship for academic achievement. The staff at Exceptional Smiles has dedicated much time in the past year to mentoring Lisa and guiding her on what she needs to know to pursue a dental career. We are sure that Lisa will be a highly skilled and caring dentist in the future and an invaluable asset to the profession.
